Ludo, Sparks the Rescue, and Tommy & The High Pilots
And a few other bands we didn't make it time to see
(I've hyperlinked all the band names to their websites)
Tommy & the High Pilots
I've seen these guys before, and they are good. They put on a good show. A few of the members from Ludo are in this band, which is probably why every time I see Ludo, I see Tommy & the High Pilots as well. As far as balance, I thought they were pretty good. They are actually good live, unlike many bands/groups I've seen. In my opinion they have really catchy choruses and melodies, but could improve on their verse writing. (then again this is coming from the person who has yet to write a half decent song). Overall, I (don't really know how to start rating bands) would rate them a 7/10. That is until I figure out better what my system of rating is.
Sparks the Rescue
When I saw this band setting up my first thought was "Oh look, a high school band on tour." These guys look fairly young. Something went wrong in the sound check, because when they started to play EVERYTHING was way too loud. The bass was too loud, the guitars and drums were overpowering, and the lead singer had to scream and was barely even heard. They weren't wearing ear plugs, so they couldn't even hear themselves. This is where the catastrophe began. For most of their set, I was counting down the time until they were done. The back up singers weren't in tune with the instruments or the lead. Everything was thrown off the balance. According to the girls I was with at this show, the singer was not the sex symbol he thought that he was. They were more turned off by him.
There was a point in time though, while I was covering my ears, that I thought this band wouldn't be so bad in on a studio recording. So when I got home I looked them up and gave them a listen. They actually sound fairly decent. So they just need to find a new mixer (or whoever was in charge of their mic check). I suggest you guys look them up. Along with the other bands I've listed here.
Concert rating: 3/10
Band rating: 7/10
Ludo
I freakin' love these guys. Not only do they write catchy music, but the lyrics are either hilarious or awesome. I'd never heard a love song from the perspective of a vampire or werewolf until I heard about these guys. They are definitely a band worth watching. This was the second time I've seen them. But I think this time they had an off night. I wonder if the lead singer was trying to recover his voice from losing it earlier that week, or if he was sick. They sang a lot more of their slower songs, and I noticed a few times he was more worried about keeping his guitar in tune than focusing more on his singing. I'm not saying that they weren't still good. Just not as good as I've seen them before.
They still put on a fantastic show. They wore space suits the entire time they were onstage, which couldn't have been comfortable at all. They played a few classics like: Girls on Trampolines and Love Me Dead. The way they finish off the show is hilarious beyond belief, and describing it would do no justice. So your only hope of finding out is catching these guys on tour.
Prior concert rating 10/10
This time 8/10
I hope this is good enough of a review. I truly enjoyed the concert, and suggest looking up all three of these bands.

Aww shiz!!
So, I just realized that if I don't start posting my reviews on these concerts I'm going to get very behind. So hopefully I'll have my first review (Ludo, Sparks the Rescue, and Tommy & the High Pilots) up before the concert tomorrow night. Cheers!
ps here's a little something to keep you smiling until then ;)

Introductory Introduction
Hello Steve... and Emily... and Roy,
I don't really know how to go about doing this. This is, after all, my very first blog post ever. After having been to so many concerts of so many different genres I've decided to give my own critique and opinion. Not that any of you even care what I have to think. I'm just some guy that talks about music, oh well.
Pretty much I'm going to give a review on every band at every concert that I go to (except maybe at Warped Tour, that's too many bands to remember everything).
I don't really know what else to say... I'll put up my first review when I have 15 people 'following' or 'reading' or whatever it's called.
'nuff said
